myDrive is a private and privacy-focused alternative for cloud storage software in which users can create and host their own cloud storage. This was the final project of my COMP555: Software Privacy course at McGill University. Apart from technical matters about the privacy and security, me and my colleague worked on user experience and user interface of it.
Due to technical limitations and also since it wasn't a design-focused project, we the design team also were limited to implement various elements; hence we had to proceed with skipping some of the UX steps.
Design Approach: We aimed to have a design that is both minimal and modern, while also providing a user-friendly and intuitive experience for our users. To accomplish our objective, we incorporated ample white space and limit the number of elements on each screen. This will prevent users from feeling overwhelmed by a cluttered and busy interface.
Color Pallet: Our system is based on certain principles, and we have chosen the colors blue and white as the main combination for our design. The color blue is often associated with reliability and trustworthiness, which aligns with our system's values. To add a modern touch to our design, we have also included some darker elements.
